King Agever the Boy
Youngest son of the mad Emperor Agevel the Butcher, Agever has recently ascended the throne of Enthadu. A boy of thirteen, he struggles to rule wisely and fairly, and to put the monstrous crimes of his father behind him. The people of Enthadu aren’t exactly happy to have a scrawny, bookish, bespectacled kid as their king; they still remember the glories of Enthadu from when the Emperor ruled. Up until the defeat in the Void War, anyway.
King Agever is married to his older brother’s former fiance, Queen Darshy. The extraordinarily beautiful half-elf is a full decade older than her husband, and the both of them know it. It is Enthadu law that one betrothed to royalty is betrothed to the position, not the person, and thus neither Agever nor Darshy had any say in the matter. It is possible that Quenn Darshy was actually in love with her fiance, Agenen, but since his death in the Void War, she has grown cold and distant, emotionless and interested only in fulfilling her duties. Or so it would seem.
Despite his youth and inexperience, King Agever has managed to hold his own against his unhappy, spiteful court. It’s only a matter of time before a concerted political attack by the disgruntled Ministers succeeds in wearing away his resolve, though. And his personal “problem solvers” have recently gone missing while on a mission to the very edge of the Cosmos.
